Casey Pipes Elected to the Council of the Alabama Law Institute

Casey Pipes was recently nominated and elected to membership on the Council of the Alabama Law Institute.  The Council includes six practicing attorneys from each federal Congressional District, and Casey will be one of the six Council members from Alabama’s 1st Congressional District, which includes Mobile, Baldwin, Washington, Escambia and Monroe Counties.  The Council is the governing body of the Alabama Law Institute.  The Alabama Law Institute, created by an act of the Legislature in 1967, is a legislative agency that operates with volunteers.  Its purpose is to clarify and simplify the laws of Alabama, to revise laws that are out-of-date, and to fill in gaps in the law where there exists legal confusion.  The ALI’s membership includes not only attorneys in Alabama, but also judges, law professors, and lawyers who are elected members of the Alabama Legislature.  For more information about the Alabama Law Institute, please visit its website at ali.state.al.us.
